Graduate Personal Property Appraiser (GPPA)

Auctioneers and individuals with GPPA behind their names have a greater knowledge of the ins and outs of personal property appraisal.

Those that have successfully completed the program have spent time learning the responsibilities of the appraiser, and have a good knowledge of the Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP)guidelines.

GPPA designated auctioneers and appraisers know not only how to conduct a complete and appropriate appraisal, but also know the various factors that affect the value of appraised items.

When hiring an appraiser, you’ll want someone that has knowledge of:

  • industry trends
  • the function of the appraiser
  • identification, valuation and methodology of appraisal \
  • the responsibility the appraiser has to the client
  • legal aspects of appraisal
  • research methods
  • standardized report formats
  • maintenance of appraisal records

In addition to the above qualifications, GPPA designees often specialize in one or more of the following areas:
